Video - Organic matter evolution in peat following smouldering fire - implications for paleoenvironmental reconstruction. Presentation by Claudio Zaccone

On December 5, 2013 Claudio Zaccone of the University of Alberta's Department of Renewable Resources gave a lecture about organic matter in peat following smouldering fire.  He had some important points about peatland fires and the type of combustion products and how climatic reconstructions using peat cores could be misleading because of peatfires in the past.
