Video - An overview of industry and regional effects management in Alberta's Industrial Heartland. Presentation by Laurie Danielson

Dr. Laurie Danielson, Executive Director of the Northeast Capital Industrial Association (NCIA), discusses an overview of NCIA, the work it has done and the economic influence it has had in the region.

NCIA is a non-profit cooperative that represents industries in Strathcona County, Sturgeon County, City of Fort Saskatchewan and Lamont County, employs over six thousand people and spends over one billion dollars annually in goods and services in the region.

They have initiated many environmentally focused projects and partnerships at the regional level. They have joined with Fort Air Partnership to focus on monitoring and reporting ambient air quality. Initiated an odour protocol with AESRD, and focused on the protection of the Beverly Channel from pollution from their industry, to name a few.

This presentation was a part of the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance AGM, in June 2014.
