A new energy source: Major advance made in generating electricity from wastewater

Science Daily reports today on research just published in the journal Energy and Environmental Science describes a new, more efficient, method of producing electricity from wastewater. The research, done at Oregon State University, found new methods of wastewater treatment that could produce enough electricity to run the wastewater treatment plant itself, and have excess to sell to the electrical grid. The next step is to do a large-scale test, possibly at a food production plant.
