Study finds investing in Sierra Nevada forests reduces megafires and saves millions

A new US study indicates that investing in preventative forest management initiatives can significantly reduce costs of future fires, reduce the number of high-severity fires, and provide additional benefits. As explained in this report from the Sierra Sun Times, the study area was in the Sierra Nevada forest, and the study's authors are the US Forest Service, the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and The Nature Conservancy.
