Volunteers in Edmonton have been busy planting trees as the city aims to double the amount of tree cover in the coming decade, according to this article from the Edmonton Journal. Sections of city parks will be selected to be returned to a natural forest state, and seedlings will be planted accordingly. The City of Edmonton approved an Urban Forest Management Plan this summer.
