Video - Landform Design for Resiliency: Closing Oil Sands Mines. Presentation by Elisa Scordo.

Between the theory of reclamined landform resiliency and the regulations governing reclamation, there is the practice of reclaiming oil sand mine pits and tailings ponds. Elisa Scordo explains the mining process and how that determines the reclamation processes. She covers the landform design approach and finishes with a case example from Suncor's mine.

Elisa Scordo is a hydrologist with BGC Engineering, Her presentation was part of the workshop on "Resiliency of Reclaimed Boreal Forest Landscapes", Jan. 22, 2013, sponsored by the Department of Renewable Resources, University of Alberta and the Oilsands Research and Information Network (OSRIN).
