The North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance (NSWA) held their 2012 Annual General Meeting on June 20th. Along with the AGM business, several speakers delivered presentations about relevant watershed issues. - Dr. Lyndon Gyurek - "Managing climate change impacts on water resources." Gyurek, Senior Manager - Environment Quality Assurance, EPCOR Water Services Inc. - describes how EPCOR is assessing the potential impacts of climate change on the supply of drinking water for Edmonton and the capital region. - Graham Watt - "Vermilion River watershed management project." Watt - Basin Planner for the NSWA - describes the development of the watershed management plan for the Vermilion River, including the main issues that drive a prairie river system in Alberta. Video
- Dr. Fayi Zhou & Mohammed Tariq - "Towards a clean and healthy river: City of Edmonton's efforts on stormwater and combined sewer overflows ." Zhou & Tariq, from Drainage Services with the City of Edmonton, describe that department"s efforts at rehabilitating combined storm and wastewater sewers. Video
- Les Gammie - "Integrated watershed management plan (and Atlas) for the North Saskatchewan River, 2012." Update on the IWMP approved in May 2012 as well as the introduction of the new Atlas. Video
- Les Gammie - "Strategic plan update." An update on the strategic plan for the NSWA, focussing on implementing the IWMP. Video
