Pablo Moreno describes the appliance industry partnership that evolved in Mexico to promote water conservation through joint shared standards for home appliance water-saving targets. Starting in 2007 with a joint government-industry program to reduce energy costs through refrigerator replacement, that program's success led to Mexico's appliance industry working cooperatively to establish a protocol for "Ecological Grade Marks" (Sello de Grado Ecológico) for different appliances.
