At the Alberta Soil Sciences Workshop 2012 in Edmonton, this presentation by Rob Janzen, J. Page and D. Browne, reviewed the results of an assessment by ClimateCHECK (on behalf of Canadian Wildlife Federation) on the feasibility of a boreal peatland greenhouse gas reduction protocol. The results show that some major knowledge gaps exist, which would make it difficult to create and monitor such a protocol. Suggestions are made for how the gaps in knowledge might be addressed.
