Best Management Practices for Conservation of Reclamation Materials in the Mineable Oil Sands Region of Alberta

The Best Management Practices Task Group (BMPTG) under the direction of the Terrestrial Subgroup (TSG) and the Reclamation Working Group (RWG) of the Cumulative Environmental Management Association (CEMA) was formed to identify and record Best Management Practices (BMPs) or guidelines for soil salvage and placement in the mineable oil sands area.

This report gathers together the practical best practices being used by operators in the oil sands region in response to the Government of Alberta's reclamation requirements. It is intended to be used by operators to make the best use of available reclamation materials for each site.
