John Ross, Chair, Milk River Watershed Council (Canada) identified the 2008 State of the Milk River report and the upcoming update in 2012 as the council's successes. Their current challenge is the process to produce an integrated watershed management plan in 2013 (and its incoporation into the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan). Milk River Council's research on the source of fecal coliforms (agricultural, birds, wildlife and human) in cooperation with Alberta Agriculture is bringing insight to an area where detailed research has been lacking.
John Ross' update was part of the WPAC Summit, Sept 24-27, 2012 in Milk River.
