Dan became interested in GIS through his undergraduate degree in Geography at the University of Ottawa. During the summer months at that time he was employed as a forest fire fighter, stationed in North Western Ontario. Dan later completed a Masters of GIS at the University of Calgary and interned as a GIS Analyst for an economic research firm in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
