Alberta to consider testing water near fracking sites

Well water near hydraulic fracturing sites may soon be added to the province's water-testing program. Currently the program applies to coalbed methane wells. As explained in this CBC News report, the industry group CAPP recommends testing water within 250 meters of a hydraulic fracturing site, but there are currently no provincial requirements to do so.
