Alberta considers underpass to protect wildlife in Crowsnest Pass

A plan to build a wildlife underpass in the Crowsnest Pass area is being considered by Alberta Transportation. The underpass would assist wildlife to safely cross highway 3, a location that sees a high volume of vehicle/wildlife accidents every year. As reported in this CBC News story, the underpass would cost approximately $1 million. Similar strategies in Banff have reduced collisions in the area by 80 per cent.
