The flooding of June 2013 has changed not only people's lives, but the landscape as well, according to a water scientist. As reported in this Huffington Post article, John Pomeroy suggests that the flooding has permanently changed the foothills landscape, and the way water and run-off will behave in the future. Plants and animals that previously thrived in some places may not do so in the newly altered landscape. Pomeroy also suggests that the provincial and municipal governments adapt their land-use policies accordingly.
