Alberta ranchers to conserve huge tract of native grassland

12,000 hectares of native grasslands in southwestern Alberta have been preserved through a conservation easement. As explained in this Lethrbridge Herald article, the ranchers who are part of the co-op have agreed that the land won't be subdivided, farmed, or drained.
