Researchers from the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary will be listening in on hydraulic fracturing to measure ground vibrations caused by the technique. As described in this CBC article, the researchers will install sensors in the borehole and at the surface in order to monitor what precisely happens when the hydraulic fracturing fluids are pumped in.
