Alberta wants more sage grouse, asks Montana for help

The Government of Alberta has asked Montana to relocate sage grouse from that state to southern Alberta to bolster the population here. As reported here by CBC News, the provincial recovery plan for sage grouse includes the relocation over 5 years of 120 birds from Montana, which has a genetically similar sage grouse population. Montana officials will respond to the request in the new year.
