As of January 1, 2013, information on the fluids used for hydraulic fracturing in Alberta will be available online at www.fracfocus.ca. As explained in this media release from the Energy Resources Conservation Board, the reporting of fluids used will be mandatory for all operations going forward. The FracFocus.ca website was created by the British Columbia Oil & Gas Commission, and currently includes information from BC. Information for Alberta wells will be added in the weeks and months ahead.
