Alberta's cougar population tripled in past decade

The number of cougars in Alberta has tripled over the past 10 years to about 2000 animals, according to WildSmart. As this CBC News article details, the increased population is mostly seen in the western parts of the province. The increased numbers mean that it's more common for humans to encounter the animals, as well.
