Bats nearly wiped out by white-nose syndrome in Eastern Canada

The little brown bat has been nearly extirpated in some areas of eastern Canada because of white-nose syndrome. Up to 99% have died in New Brunswick. This CBC News article describes the spread of the disease, which is moving further west every year.
