Beetle bait could help save Alberta pine forests

Researchers from the University of Alberta's Departments of Renewable Resources and Biological Sciences are working towards development of a bait that would help track mountain pine beetle activity in forests. The bait is a pheromone-based compound, under development by Dr. Nadir Erbilgin and Dr. Maya Evenden, as well as several graduate students.  More details of this research program can be found on the University of Alberta's news site.
