The Alberta Water Council has set targets for seven industry sectors on water conservation. The targets, as explained in this Edmonton Journal article, are voluntary measures to get to the target of 30% improvement in productivity and efficiency by 2015. The targets do not include details of how much water should be left in rivers or lakes, a measure many non-profit groups were hoping to see.
