Calgary aims to make strides toward improving walkability

Calgary's score of 48 on the "Walk Score" test means that there is much room for improvement in the city's walkability. As reported in this Calgary Herald article, city council has approved a couple of new strategies aimed at making the city more pedestrian-friendly: The RouteAhead (to encourage development around LRT stations) and Next City (to encourage higher density developments in planning decisions).
