Five Years of COSIA
Performance Update 2017
Free Registration is now open for COSIA'S 2017 Performance Update
Since its inception over five years ago, COSIA has focused on accelerating the pace of environmental improvements in the industry. Join us as we present COSIA's latest progress towards enabling responsible and sustainable growth of Canada's oil sands. We will also discuss the successes shared and challenges faced during our first five years as an organization.
COSIA's 2017 Performance Update takes place Tuesday, March 20 from 8 am to 1:20 pm.
This year we are excited to host our annual performance update through a virtual platform, allowing registrants to participate from their own locations, anywhere around the world. Following a live press conference and question and answer session with Dan Wicklum, COSIA’s chief executive, registrants will have access to presentations and webchats on COSIA projects and activities from each of its environmental priority areas, greenhouse gases, land, water and tailings. COSIA's annual project portfolio, event presentation materials, videos and other content will remain accessible following the close of the scheduled event.
Presentations cover a range of topics including: organic composting, advanced reclamation technology, caribou recovery and tailings reclamation research. And registrants can participate in chat rooms with guest presenters, including Marcius Extavour, director of Technical Operations for the NRG COSIA Carbon XPRIZE, and Dr. William Shotyk, professor and Bocock Chair for Agriculture and the Environment at the University of Alberta. Executives from COSIA’s member companies, including Cenovus, Canadian Natural, Imperial and Suncor, will also participate and be available for questions.
