Community leagues in Edmonton have written to the City to ask that a proposed zoning plan be reconsidered. The plan is designed to guide infill construction in mature neighbourhoods; the community leagues believe that more public consultation is required before it can go ahead. As explained in this Edmonton Journal article, the bill is meant to implement guidelines created several years ago after long community consultations. As written, however, the bill is quite different.
