Cracks in rock could be connected to Cold Lake bitumen leaks, CNRL acknowledges

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd (CNRL) has released a report regarding the ongoing bitumen leak near their Cold Lake operations. The report indicates that cracks in rock layers could be contributing to the leak. As this Edmonton Journal article indicates, CNRL still believes that the main cause of the leaks is related to faulty well bores. Other groups suggest that the report should lead the Alberta Energy Regulator to re-examine the situation.
