Research from the University of Alberta's Department of Renewable Resources shows that drywall compost can help bring life back to dead soils. As explained in this UAlberta News article, researchers used drywall as part of a compost mixture and tested the effects on different soil types. Results showed that soils treated with the drywall mixture out-performed soils treated with compost that didn't have the drywall added.
