Federal officials look for Fisheries Act violations in wake of Athabasca spill

After the leak of a coal mine's containment pond into the Athabasca River, officials from the federal government are looking into potential violations of the Fisheries Act. As this Edmonton Journal article indicates, the investigation is being conducted by people from Environment Canada and Fisheries & Oceans Canada. Alberta Environment is monitoring the water after the leak as well.
