First Nation drops out of 'frustrating' oil-sands monitoring talks

The Fort McKay First Nation has dropped out of talks with the Joint Oil Sands Monitoring (JOSM) program. The JOSM program is a federal-provincial effort that is working towards developing a monitoring strategy and protocol for the oilsands region. As this Globe and Mail report indicates, the Fort McKay First Nation says that the discussions have so far been frustrating and uncoordinated. Officials are working towards keeping the First Nation involved in the process.
