Fracking causes water worries for NDP

The provincial NDP MLAs are calling for the government to conduct a review of fracking in Alberta, according to this Calgary Herald article. The party's concerns stem from water use in fracking - the quantity of fresh water required for the process of hydraulic fracturing. The provincial government has indicated that the amount of water used in fracking is minimal when looked at as part of Alberta's overall water use, however they have plan to have public discussions about the province's water supply in coming months.
