Environment Canada has commissioned a report from a number of international scientists to look at the long-term effects of hydraulic fracturing. The report indicates that much remains unknown about how hydraulic fracturing will have an impact on water over the long-term. As this CBC News report explains, the researchers recommend a better system for monitoring the process and effects on water.
