Funding for the Cumulative Environment Management Association (CEMA) has been cut in half by its industry funders. As reported in this Edmonton Journal article, the Oilsands Developers Group made the decision to cut funding for 2013 as they feel the work of CEMA is coming to an end. With the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan in place, as well as the new federal/provincial monitoring group and the province's new single-regulator, the industry partners see the role of CEMA being filled elsewhere.
