Government of Canada taking action to protect the Greater Sage-Grouse

The Government of Canada has announced today its intention of introducing an Emergency Protection Order for the Greater Sage-Grouse. As described here in this Environment Canada news release, the Emergency Order will impose restrictions on activity in sage-grouse habitat in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The restrictions will apply only to provincial and federal crown lands, not on private land.
