A female grizzly bear named "Jewel" is missing and presumed dead near Lillooet in BC. Jewel was a collared bear being tracked by researchers at fRI, the BC Ministry of Environment and the St'at'imc First Nation. As this CBC News report indicates, It has been a year since Jewel was last seen, and her radio collar was located in June of this year.
