Industry renews call to shut down oilsands environmental agency

Some members of the oil industry have renewed efforts to have the Cumulative Environmental Management Association (CEMA) closed, and have its work taken over by other groups. As this article from the Edmonton Journal explains, the suggestion first came up last November, but was dismissed by the Environment Minister. The suggestion was made again, after a review of CEMA's role, by some members of the review committee.

This follow-up article from the September 26th edition of the Edmonton Journal indicates that the industry members declined to comment on the report.
