A prescribed burn in Jasper National Park may be set this fall, after years of planning. As explained in this CBC News article, the burn requires the perfect combination of weather and forest dryness before it can be safely carried out, and conditions haven't been right any year in the past seven. The burn is part of the Park's forest management plan.
