Milestone land agreement gives Fort McMurray room to grow

The city of Fort McMurray will have room to grow, following a milestone land deal with the province. 22,000 hectares of land have been earmarked for city development after the province cancelled existing oilsands leases, compensating companies accordingly. As this Edmonton Journal article explains, the city will be able to purchase the land from the province as needed over the next 5-15 years as the city's population grows.
