Mount Polley Mine tailings pond dam stable: Imperial Metals

The tailings pond dam that failed at Mount Polley's copper and gold mine in BC send ten million cubic meters of water and 4.5 million cubic meters of silt into neighbouring waters. This CBC News report indicates that Imperial Metals are investigating the possible cause of the dam break, as well as starting the long process of dealing with the effects on the contaminated water and landscape.
