Mountain Pine Beetle in Jasper National Park Adds a Threat to Alberta's Forests

The Alberta Forest Products Association discussed what to do about the spread of mountain pine beetle in Jasper National Park during their September meeting.

Speaking to The Jasper Fitzhugh, Mountain Pine Beetle Ecology Program lead Keith McClain explained that the beetle will just continue spreading east if the infestation goes unchecked in the Jasper National Park.

The next step is a coordinated effort between the federal and provincial governments.
