Mountain weather stations to better predict future flooding, droughts

A new weather station at the top of Fortress Mountain in Kananaskis Country will help monitor high-altitude conditions in the province. As this article from the Calgary Herald explains, the new equipment will help provide information that could give early warning indicators for future flooding, drought conditions, or other weather-related events. The Fortress Mountain station is one of several new monitoring stations being set up throughout the Rockies by a team from the University of Saskatchewan's Centre of Hydrology.
