Nature trumps nurture in grizzly bears: U of A Study

New research on grizzly bears indicates that grizzly moms teach their cubs more about den selection and suitable habitat than the cubs 'learn' from instinct or genetics. The results, published in PLOS ONE and explained in this Calgary Herald article, show that relocating problem bears - a strategy used regularly in Alberta - may lead to difficulties as bears need to learn about their new environment to adapt to it.
