Northern Alberta industrial development puts some species in decline, report says

The Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute (ABMI) has released a report indicating that some species of plants and animals are in decline due to industrial development in the oilsands area of northern Alberta. As this Edmonton Journal article explains, the report covers three areas in northern Alberta - Peace River, Cold Lake and the northeast Athabasca region.
