A large 'shadow' population and aging infrastructure have led to water shortages in the town of Fox Creek. As explained in this Edmonton Journal article, the town has recently lifted a water ban, but water restrictions are still in effect. New infrastructure (new wells and a transport pipeline) is being developed, and should be ready for use in November.
