Pastures, endangered birds at risk from flood waters

Fields in western Saskatchewan are saturated, particularly around the South Saskatchewan River.  As reported in this Saskatoon Star-Phoenix report, the flood waters from Alberta are causing pastures and fields to flood, a situation exacerbated by heavy rainfall in some locations. As well, water levels in Lake Diefenbaker in northern Saskatchewan are very high, threatening some piping plover nests (an endangered species).
