Penn West Exploration is cleaning up after a pipeline leak from one of their lines east of Red Deer, according to this Edmonton Journal article. About 300,000 litres of 'produced water' (water that was previously used in an oil well, and that still contains some oil) was spilled in a farm field. Clean up efforts are underway, monitored by the Energy Resources Conservation Board.
