Province extends closures of Cadomin and Wapiabi Caves to protect Alberta bats

Cadomin Caves and Wapiabi Caves will remain closed to the public for another five years in order to protect hibernation habitat for bats, and provent exposure to white-nose syndrome. As noted in this Alberta Government media release, the caves have been closed to the public since 2010. Another assessment of the situation will be done in five years to determine if any re-opening is feasible.
