A report just released by the Cumulative Environmental Management Association (CEMA) warns that the effects of oilsands development on local groundwater could be far-reaching, according to this article from the Edmonton Journal. CEMA suggests that more data is required to better understand the cumulative effects on groundwater, but that there could be potentially serious effects on wildlife, fish, and water supply.
