Residents believe vacant land threatens community, physical and mentail health

A new study released in the Journal of Urban Health indicates that vacant land in urban areas has an impact on how people perceive their community and their own health. As reported at ScienceDaily.com, the study shows that residents feel that the negative effects of vacant land in their neighbourhood impair community development, and overshadow other positive attributes of the area. The study suggests that good community engagement in community development projects is one way to overcome these perceptions.
