New legislation introduced in the Alberta legislature this week will allow the creation of regional growth boards. The Modernizing Regional Governance Act is intended to provide communities with another means of resolving development disputes. As this Edmonton Journal article explains, the regional growth boards would be similar to the Capital Region Board, created in 2008 for the Edmonton area.
